Christmas has arrived at Bennetts
The Christmas Tree is up and we think it looks FAB-U-LOUS but don't just take our word for it, we would LOVE for you to come and visit us and see for yourself. In the meantime you can get a glimpse from the photo below.
Bennetts Christmas Tree
The Bennetts tree has long been a Christmas institution in Derby with hundreds of visitors making a special trip to see it.
This year we've gone for an icy silver and white Christmas theme which is really on trend at the moment with the popularity of the Disney film Frozen. 'Planted' in it's usual place at the foot of the stairs to the Bennetts Tearoom & Cafe, the tree is truly a sight to behold and smells divine!
The tree is installed each year on a Saturday during early November. It takes staff about an hour to get the tree in position and then all day Sunday to festoon it with the hundreds of lights and a different selection of decorations every year.
“It’s a major operation to get a tree that size actually through the store doors never mind upright and securely in place at the foot of our main staircase but, after years of practice, we now have it down to a fine art”, says Mr McMillen.
