The famous marzipan covered yellow and pink squared sponge cake is said to have been named in honour of the marriage of Prince Louis of Battenberg to Queen Victoria’s granddaughter in 1884 with the squares representing Louis and his three brothers … but whatever its origin the Battenberg Cake is still a favourite today.
Measuring 20 x 15” overall the tin is split into four sections by removable dividers allowing you to easily create the different coloured sponges required to make the cake.
